Keep your furnace running in tip top shape

Your gas fired furnace is one of the most important appliances in your home. Why overlook it? Have your furnace looked at every year. I'm offering furnace tune-ups in Placer and El Dorado counties for a reasonable rate. Don't forget about your heat pump system as well. A heat pump should be service every year as well.

I was out on a service call recently in Auburn and found a furnace with a cracked heat exchanger. In a lot of Placer county and most of El Dorado county we use propane gas for heat. LP gas burns much hotter then natural gas which puts much more wear and tear on your homes heating system. As we all know the effects of carbon monoxide can have deadly affects on our family and pets. Please have your furnace check/inspected every year. Its for your safety only. Also if the power goes out at your home please DO NOT use portable gas heaters, unless you are in a VERY well ventilated area.

Time to check your furnace air filter

It has snowed here on the Goergetown Divide this weekend. We even got snow as low as Cool CA in El Dorado county. It got me thinking that right now is a great time to clean or change your heating system's air filter. A dirty air filter can cause your forced air heating and cooling or heat pump system to work harder then needed. Don't spend more on energy costs then needed.
